Project Summary

The Toronto Seed Library operates a decentralized network of nearly 30 branches across the city, including community centers, churches, and university libraries. It offers free access to open-pollinated, untreated seeds, encouraging individuals to take seeds, grow them, and return a portion of the harvested seeds to maintain the collection. This initiative fosters local food sovereignty, preserves agricultural biodiversity, and strengthens community resilience through shared gardening practices.
