Simple Tools can lead to projects that will engage people in sustainability.
Some of these are:
- Database of Sustainability Projects
- Project summaries show people many of the sustainability projects that are going on in their city. Viewers can learn about the subject through real examples, and they can contact project managers for more information.
- Theme Workshops
- Several speakers present different aspects of one Theme at a public workshop. This stimulates discussion and can lead to action.
- Tree Talks
- One speaker presents one element of one Theme in an outdoor setting. This is enjoyable and stimulates action.
- Demonstration Projects
- These projects show the methods used to address sustainability. One example is the Toronto Sustainability Tour, created by Toronto BEC.
- Sustainability Plans
- Members of a school or community discuss issues and actions for sustainability in break-out groups for the 10 Themes. Suggestions are made for individual and group actions. These are combined in a sustainability plan and distributed to all members of the school or community to take individual or collective action.
