You can start this project today.
- First, read the short manual on this page. Look over Annex 1 of the manual which shows how action under the 10 Themes of Sustainability can provide positive action for climate.
- Then pick a Theme of Sustainability where you want to focus and read the short descriptions of the projects. Predict how each project could support mitigation or adaptation of climate change. You could also do this for all of the Themes or pick and choose projects that interest you in any of the Themes.
- Make a table like the one in the manual, listing the Theme, Project, and your predicted Climate Benefit. Alternatively, you can fill out the Registration and Climate Action Submission Form or send your ideas to climateaction@bioecocity.org.
- Include your first name and high school with your ideas and send this with your predictions.
- Tell your friends, fellow students, and teachers about the climate action project. Have them look at the Toronto Biosphere Eco-City website to join you in this project.
As soon as we have enough ideas from you and other students, we’ll put up the first report showing student predictions for climate action.

- We’ll receive your ideas on climate action and will recognize you for them
- Managers of the sustainability project will learn about climate benefits they produce
- Residents of Toronto will see the link between sustainability and climate action
- Your involvement will be a step forward for climate action in Toronto.
Other things you can do
- Tell us about other sustainability projects, you are aware of, that we can add to our Database. We will really appreciate the information.
- Join Toronto Biosphere Eco-City as a volunteer to add projects to the Database. Just send us a short note of interest on the Contact Us page of this website.
